Hiking boots

The perfect hiking boots should be worn during the activity to comfortably hike through the forests which tend to be slippery during the wet season hence making mobility hard but with the perfect boots the activity will be quite memorable and comfortable.

GUIDELINES FOR CHIMPANZEE TREKKING IN UGANDA

  • Because chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park takes a full day it is common for tourists to pack lunch but they should put into consideration the fact that littering is the park is highly prohibited because it can cause accidents like choking and also lead to the spreading of diseases to the primates.

  • You should maintain a distance of 7 metres away from the primates in order to avoid them from contracting diseases from you that can be fatal to the primates.
  • You should always follow the lead of the guide and the team of trainers during the activity to avoid any accidents during the chimpanzee habituation process since the activity involves habituating chimpanzee troops that are not accustomed to human presence.
  • Avoid eating in the presence of the chimpanzees because they will be attracted to come and eat some and in scenarios where the tourist has an underlying medical conditions, they can easily spread the diseases to the primates which can affect their mortality rate in the park which in the long run can be a threat to tourism sustainability in the park therefore to avoid such instances, you should be mindful of how you can engage in the activity without harming the primates while on Uganda safaris.
