The chimpanzees live in rain forests because this is where they get their food and  a constant supply of water. Also the rain forests give them the best environments to thrive, physically and in all aspects of their lives.

the chimpanzees are only naturally found in Africa. they are currently found in 21 African countries the highest population found in the central and East Africa.  Uganda is East Africa used to have over 10,000 chimpanzees at one time and it was called the primate capital.

  1. Chimpanzees have the ability to learn skills and language

as stated above, the chimpanzees share DNA with humans so they have the ability to learn different skills and language especially sign language. social skills and spatial understanding learn words, play with objects, and even seem to mourn the deaths of their friends

Again this goes back to the fact that the animals share their DNA with humans, so they are able to somehow utilise self-made tools in their day to day activities, like feeding, playing, protecting themselves against danger, moving from one place or tree to another among other things.

  1. they are social animals

These primates live in groups of 10 – 20 individuals for smaller families and up to 40 or 100 individuals in the larger communities. the communities has a specific hierarchy with the dominant alpha male leading the rest.

  1. they give birth once in 5 years

the chimpanzees will carry one viable pregnancy once iin 5 years. when the mother gives birth she will stay with the young chimpanzees on her back for the next three to four year meaning the next open time for the mother to mate with a male and give birth is 5 years.

  1. they use all four limbs

the chimpanzees are able to move on all their four limbs, their two hands and legs. However, if need arises they can also use just their legs to move around.

  1. they can live upto 80 years

in their natural habitat the chimps are able to live up to 40 years, however, in captivity its been recorded that the chimpanzees can survive up to 80 years.
