RULES AND REGULATIONS OF GORILLA TREKKING IN RWANDA 2021

Gorilla trekking in Rwanda 2021 can be quite memorable if you know the rules and regulations to follow for an amazing experience in the country. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is carried out in volcanoes national park the home to the world’s half of the remaining mountain gorilla population and these can be seen in their designated habituated groups. For any tourist interested in getting to the habituates troops, they will have to hike the magnificent and breathtaking virunga mountains in Rwanda that is mount Muhabura, mount Gahinga, mount sabyinyo, mount Bisoke and mount karisimbi that will give you access to the habituated  troops.

Once you get to the gorilla family you are going to track, you will spend one hour with them observing their different behavior in the wild and among the most memorable features of the mountain gorillas that you will get to see include  their social structure for instance each particular group has a dominant male also known as the silver back who has all the mating rights with all the adult female of the group which is not the case for the black backs of the family, you will also get to see how the adult females of the groups take case of the infants, breastfeed them which is quite similar to how humans breastfeed their babies  while you observe tm and many other interesting features of the primates for an amazing experience in the park. Maintain an arm’s length distance away from other hikers while you participate in gorilla trekking in the park to avoid spreading covid-19 to other hikers in case they got exposed to the virus on their way to volcanoes national park.

Avoid feeding gorillas during the hike in order to avoid spreading diseases to them sine they are highly vulnerable species that can easily contract diseases. many tourists go with their packed lunch during their gorilla trekking  experience in Rwanda and in such scenarios it is advisable to Communicate with your  guide who will give you a lunch break before you reach the gorillas to avoid sharing food stuffs with them.

Avoid making noise in the presence of the gorillas because it can trigger them as a threat which can lead them to violently attack you. It should be noted that the gorillas are gentle species hence their name the gentle giants  that enjoy peace and if any one disrupts that then they can either attack you or walk away from you which  can make the activity quite hectic

During the activity ensure that you put on your mask to avoid spreading the virus to the tourists and to the primates when you get in contact with them because covid-19 is quite contagious.

Avoid taking pictures of the gorillas using flash mode because they are light sensitive which may signal them as a threat to their existence leasing them to violently attack yo which can be fatal.

Unnecessary movements in the presence of the gorillas are prohibited to avoid the primates from thinking that they are being attacked because this can lead them to move from one place to another making the activity quite unbearable and secondly it can trigger them to attack you since they are gentle species that love their peace.
