Gorillas once they are introduced to gorilla trekking which you can get to understand more when you participate in gorilla habituation in Uganda which involves training the gorillas to get accustomed to human presence and this usually takes about two years for the gorillas to get used to the humans, there are a number of habituated gorilla families in Rwanda, Uganda and the democratic republic of Congo that will showcase how friendly they are towards humans.

Gorillas especially habituated gorillas are quite friendly towards the human which is evident where you can see the infants in some cases making their way and get closer to humans during their gorilla trekking experience in Africa. interesting about the gorillas is the fact that if they are unprovoked they are quite shy and peaceful primates hence their nickname gentle giants that can co-exist with humans.

Some of the triggers that can lead to gorillas to attack humans during gorilla trekking in Africa include making noise while you get to their territory because it triggers them as a threat, unnecessary movements of tourists, making eye contact with the gorillas which is a sign of challenge to fight them and this can be fatal because they are quite strong compared to humans therefore for any tourists interested in taking part in gorilla trekking, they are advised to take part in the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking in Africa in order for tourists to have an amazing and safe experience while they participate in gorilla trekking in Africa.

Gorillas are quite friendly towards one another but the only time where they can be seen acting violently towards one another is during the challenge during the head of a gorilla family which involved a silver back of a gorilla family challenging the dominant silverback for the head of a group and this involves them fighting for leadership where the winner becomes the head of the group and the loser is chased away from the group.

The gorillas can be seen friendly towards with the chimpanzees in the same area but once the chimpanzees encroach on their territories or kill their infants in case of food scarcity, they can be seen acting violently towards the chimpanzees so as to protect their family and territory. Interesting about gorilla strength vs chimpanzees is the fact that even if gorillas are quite strong compared to the chimpanzees, in case where a gorilla is outnumber by about 26 gorillas, they can e killed which I quite rare but in situations where they wander off, infants are separated from the gorilla family, they can be seen fighting against and defeating the gorillas.
