After the tour of Musanze cave, I had the opportunity to hike the twin lakes near the famous Gishwati-Mukura swamp. This hike was especially nice because it was done in the shadow of Mt. Muhabura, which was covered with thick clouds for most of the afternoon. Towards the end of my hike, the sky suddenly cleared to reveal an absolutely stunning view of the mountain range, with the twin lakes below me shining in the afternoon sun. It was definitely the highlight of my trip to Rwanda!
