Detailed Itinerary for 5 Days Tarangire Ngorongoro and Serengeti Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Your Safari driver will meet you in the Kilimanjaro International Airport to greet you and bring you to the hotel in Arusha.
Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park- Stopover at Mto Wa Mbu or Karatu Village
Our first day begins in the early morning. We leave the resort in Arusha and go to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is sometimes overshadowed by the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, yet it contains massive concentrations of wildlife from July to October.
With a wildlife viewing area nearly ten times the size of adjacent Manyara, the park is most known for its elephant migration, birdwatching, and tranquil real safari feel amid a unique setting of baobab trees. We will have a game drive around the park.
Lunch will be taken at a picnic location overlooking the Tarangire River. In the afternoon, we will drive to the camp/lodge in Mto Wa Mbu village or the Karatu region. Leisure time, supper, and overnight.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Drive and Transfer to Serengeti National Park
On day 3 of your 5 Days Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti Wildlife Safari, we set off from your lodge or camp early in the morning and head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After arriving and passing through the gate, we drive down to the crater bottom in search of animals. With its copious water, great grazing, and natural protection from the heavily forested crater walls, the crater is home to around 25000 species, including the endangered Black Rhinoceros. We will eat lunch at a picnic area on the crater floor.
Then we go to Serengeti NP. The Maasai word “serengeti” means “endless plain”. The park covers about 15,000 square km. Depending on the season, we will visit the greatest wildlife watching areas in the Serengeti, which have several locations. On our way to camp, we had a sunset game drive. We’ll arrive in our accommodation late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti
On Day 4 of your 5 days Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti Wildlife Safari, enjoy a full-day wildlife drive in the Serengeti in pursuit of the Big Five. The Serengeti ecosystem is home to the “big five” (lion, African elephant, cape buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros). Other major species include zebra, wildebeest, gazelles and antelopes, giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, hippopotamus, crocodiles, and several primate species including vervet monkeys and olive baboons. It is also an endemic bird region, with 505 species now identified. We return to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Optional Hot Air Balloon Tour
The Balloon Safari trip begins at around 5 a.m., when you depart from your resort. It is still dark, and you may have the opportunity to witness nocturnal creatures on your trip to the launch location. When you arrive, you will meet your pilot and see your balloon filled and ready for takeoff. After a full safety lecture and demonstration of the boarding and landing positions, you board your balloon and take off! Rising with the sun, your balloon drifts in the direction of the day’s winds over this beautiful landscape.
Your pilot will utilize changing heights and layers of air to guide the balloon over this spectacular location, finding wildlife and enjoying the scenery. We plan to fly for around an hour, depending on the circumstances. After landing, you have a traditional champagne toast before moving off to a special meal in the wilderness under an acacia tree.
Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Transfer Back to Arusha
On the last day of your safari, after having your breakfast, head out for a sunrise game drive, looking for large cats while hunting; they actively hunt in the early morning. Then we’ll go on a wildlife drive in the Serengeti before heading to the gate or Seronera airfield for your flight to your next destination.
